Database updates land here and are applied the next time the server starts.

Each script runs once, in name order, and is deleted afterwards. What ran is recorded in
applied.log, which is also what stops a script being fetched and applied twice.

A script still here after a start is one that FAILED - applied.log says which.
You can also drop your own .sql in here; it is treated exactly the same way.
